Postage Due

The post office has raised
the postage rate again.
Now the stamp of Edgar Allan Poe
is two cents short
while the stamp of Homer Simpson
delivers full value.
Discuss, America,
discuss.

Spam the Man

This is a poem.
Not spam.
I’m not the widow
of the former Nigerian foreign minister
requesting your help
to move ten million
to an American bank.
I’m not selling penis enlargers
or pirate cable boxes.
My links won’t take you
to a hard-core site
nor phish you with
a phony eBay.
I’ve no new stocks
to trumpet,
no labor saving devices
to extol.
This is a poem.
A love poem in fact.
And I love e-mail addresses.
All ten million
that I send this to.

Andy and the Puma

In the bush he heard a sound,
shoulda ran, but turned around

Hippies, Hair Metal, and How I Learned to Stop Watching Television

Every ten years or so
another trendy group
of (male) artists
try to make themselves
look like girls

This gives strength to my theory
that all women want to sleep
with other women
and the guys have found
another clever way
to sidestep this problem
